Snowman

As I promised you in my previous post, today I will introduce you C.C.`s friend, Mr. Snowman. He is also a custom made piece, the idea was simple, but I wanted to add a little complexity into this brooch. I used multiple techniques for it, like cutout, embroidery and patchwork.

I really hope his new owner will be happy with the results:

Do you like to combine more techniques in your craft projects?
If yes, which ones?

Hugs,

C.C.

The custom made series continues with C.C., the Custom-made Cow. I really enjoy the challenge of making something new, but at the same time there is the chance that my design won`t match the customer`s idea.  So it`s a two way street :P

Let me introduce C.C. :

I think she turned out quite charming, what do you guys say?

In my next post I`ll introduce you her friend ;)

Stay crafty!

Phone phone cases

Another pair of custom made phone cases made their way to their new owners this week. Can you guess what they represent:

The title gave me away, I know. They are phone cases that look like the old telephones, the ones with rotary dials.
I finished them at night so that is why all the pictures were taken with a flash (I apologize about that :P).

The green phone case with blue and white buttons:

And the black and orange combination with white buttons:

Hope you like them!

Custom made

After finding out about my hobby, a few of my colleagues asked me to do some custom work for them.
Among these handmade items were two phone cozies, each one unique and hopefully an adequate representation of what their owners had in mind:

The first one is a black colored phone case with a yellow bird on it that we all know too well and love, Tweety:

The second one is inspired by a set of brooches I made a while back, the Peanut-butter and Jelly sandwich brooch set, and has a red background:

On the back you can see a purple flower shaped button which secures a mechanism that doesn`t let the phone slip out of the case:
I enjoyed making these lovely cases and I can only hope that their owners enjoy using them!

Have a lovely day,

Different kind of owl

It was loads of fun making the apple key-chain, so I figured I should make one more and as you might have figure I made one shaped as an owl. I just could not resist and it seems that others felt the same as this little guy already found his home :)

Here are some pictures, front and back:

And the leafy mechanism that works the same way as for the apple key-chain:

So how do you like this different kind of owl? Should I make some more?
As I know myself by now, I probably won`t resist not making more. Hehe

Have a lovely week,

An apple a day

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away" or at least that`s what they say. As you might have guessed this will be an apple related post only I`ll be showing you a little different apple, not for your tummy, but for your keys. Yes, keys! This is something new I wanted to try for a long time now, but as all my ideas it took some time until it became tangible.

It`s a key-chain of sorts, only you don`t put it on your keys, instead you put your keys on it:

When you don`t need to use the keys just pull the leaves and the keys go into the apple, I also added a bookworm so it won`t be dull:

When I was little I remember my grandma having a similar key-chain, only it was made from leather and was shaped as a pear. I don`t know what happened to it, but I am glad that I had the memory to inspire me to create something similar.
Hope you like it!

Crochet flowers

Got my hands on some beautiful two-colored yarn from the department store and made this extra large crochet flower with a diameter of 14 cm:

For the center flower I split the yarn and used the pink colored part and from the remaining yarn made a simpler gray crochet flower, both decorated with vintage gray buttons:

Didn`t manage to figure out what to use them for yet, but I`m leaning for brooches. What do you think? Is the XL crochet flower to big for a brooch?

Maybe I can use it as a decoration for a bag...

Have a good one,

Mushroom Cottage

A while back I found the cutest tutorial on this lovely blog, The little house by the see, but only now did I get a chance to make my very own Mushroom Cottage:

You can find the blog post here in case you want to give at making your own version. I used a light beige felt for the bottom instead of white and made up the embroidery as I went along, but I loved how it turned out:

It makes such a cute decoration on my craft desk and also if I want to I can use it as a pincushion. I am even thinking about making the Toadstool Cottage too to have the full pair.

Have a great day,
Enci
