Happy New Year!

Thank you for those of you out there who read these lines! Let me wish you all a Happy New Year and leave you with a little quote:

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life.
Don't be trapped by dogma
- which is living with the results of other people's thinking.
Don't let the noise of others opinions
drown out your own inner voice.
And most important,
have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
They somehow already know what you truly want to become.

Everything else is secondary...

Handmade Gifts - Part 3

I case you were curious about my other handmade Christmas gifts this year, I also made two more holiday wreaths somewhat like what I made myself, only these were smaller and instead of a flower they each had a little angel on them as centerpiece:

Here they are:

The first one I made using decorative strings:

While the second one`s technique was similar to the original wreath I made, using thread and decorations from felt:

and even if you can`t believe it, I`m still not done showing you all of the gifts yet!

Catch you later,

Merry Christmas

"There is a reason people can`t wait for Christmas.
And it has little to do with family reunions
or curling up with a couple of eggnogs ....
or that unexpected kiss beneath the mistletoe
or receiving a present from that special someone.

No,

people look forward to Christmas
because they know it`s a time
for
miracles!"

Merry Christmas to all of you and
may you witness more then enough miracles !

Handmade Gifts - Part 2

Hey guys, here comes the second peek to my handmade Christmas gifts. This time I experimented with accessories from felt like coin purses and cozies for reading glasses. First I drew them down, made patterns for them, cut those out and finally used those to cut out the shapes from felt. For the color combinations I tried to variate the favorite colors for each person.

This here is the little coin purse I made for my friend:

And here you can see the glasses cozy I made for my mom:

But I am far from being done, so stay tuned ...
;)
I`ll be back with more,

Handmade Gifts - Part 1

This year I decided to gift only handmade present for my family and friends, so a week before Christmas I got to work and made my first project. These hand-puppets were made for two adorable little girls, who just love to play puppet-show:

This one is Mr. Lion, king of the jungle:

And his good old friend, the wise Mr. Owl:

I enjoyed making these guys so much and I was thinking of adding such things to my shop next year. It was frightening at the beginning to do "bigger" stuff from felt, I guess I got to comfortable making my little brooches, but now I`ve got courage from this and can`t wait to start on my other gifts.

I promise to keep you posted,

My Winter Wreath

Hello dear everybody!
Today I will show you the wreath I did for myself. It is made from a polystyrene wreath that I coiled with some light green wool and decorated with some felt rhombuses and a felt flower:

The felt flower was made using this lovely tutorial, only instead of gluing I sew the pieces together:

Did you do your own wreath this year?
I would love to see some,

New shades

I`ve got some new shades of felt and made some more flower brooches from them. Here are some photos of the blue ones and green ones:

My favorite is the light green, what is yours?
