Different kind of owl

It was loads of fun making the apple key-chain, so I figured I should make one more and as you might have figure I made one shaped as an owl. I just could not resist and it seems that others felt the same as this little guy already found his home :)

Here are some pictures, front and back:

And the leafy mechanism that works the same way as for the apple key-chain:

So how do you like this different kind of owl? Should I make some more?
As I know myself by now, I probably won`t resist not making more. Hehe

Have a lovely week,

An apple a day

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away" or at least that`s what they say. As you might have guessed this will be an apple related post only I`ll be showing you a little different apple, not for your tummy, but for your keys. Yes, keys! This is something new I wanted to try for a long time now, but as all my ideas it took some time until it became tangible.

It`s a key-chain of sorts, only you don`t put it on your keys, instead you put your keys on it:

When you don`t need to use the keys just pull the leaves and the keys go into the apple, I also added a bookworm so it won`t be dull:

When I was little I remember my grandma having a similar key-chain, only it was made from leather and was shaped as a pear. I don`t know what happened to it, but I am glad that I had the memory to inspire me to create something similar.
Hope you like it!

Crochet flowers

Got my hands on some beautiful two-colored yarn from the department store and made this extra large crochet flower with a diameter of 14 cm:

For the center flower I split the yarn and used the pink colored part and from the remaining yarn made a simpler gray crochet flower, both decorated with vintage gray buttons:

Didn`t manage to figure out what to use them for yet, but I`m leaning for brooches. What do you think? Is the XL crochet flower to big for a brooch?

Maybe I can use it as a decoration for a bag...

Have a good one,

Mushroom Mania

Yes, you guessed right I made more mushroom, I am very proud of the way they turned out!
They are all unique in their own way. Here they all are in one bunch:

The green and red brother and sister, they both have a little flower on them:

And the brown cousins, which are in fact little mushroom houses, with windows and flower-vine decorated doors:

Close-up:

Is any of them to your taste?
With mushroomly growing love,

HIPY PAPY BTHETHDTH THUTHDA BTHUTHDY

These guys have been waiting for a long time to be introduced, so here they are: The Owl Brunch!

The pink one:

The blue one:

And the purple one:

As for the title, here is a little quote from Winnie The Pooh:
"So Owl wrote...and this is what he wrote:
HIPY PAPY BTHETHDTH THUTHDA BTHUTHDY
Pooh looked on admiringly.
"I'm just saying 'A Happy Birthday'," said Owl carelessly.
"It's a nice long one," said Pooh, very much impressed by it."

What I want to say is Happy Birthday to my darling Lori!

Mickey Mouse

This entry goes out for all of you Disney fans out there. I sure do know one thing: Disney movies made my childhood prettier and more fun. I am not saying we should live in a fairytale or lie to our kids but it`s nice to pretend once in a while that this world isn`t such a bad place after all.

Anyways, I didn`t come up with the idea for these brooches alone, my darling boyfriend was the one who told me to try it out and I did! So this is how they came out:

Mickey Mouse no. 1:

Mickey Mouse no. 2:

What do you think, did I get him right?

Until next time,

Whizzy

Say "Hello" everybody!
She is Whizzy, my darling pet for 7 years now, I got her when she was 4 years old.

Turtles have a high lifespan and in many cases the kids get bored of them or don`t care for them so the parents give them away. There is such a place in my city where unwanted pets get a home and you can adopt from there, that is how I got my Whizzy. They were many animals there and especially lots of turtles, old and big turtles that nobody wanted, but no reason to get sad they were very well taken care of by the students from the Veterinarian College.
Still it was a good feeling giving one of them a home:

I love turtles, as the matter in fact I must confess I have a huge addiction to all things that resemble them: I have turtle plushies, turtle pillow, turtle magnets, turtle candle holders, turtle earrings, turtle necklaces, turtle rings and now ...

I made this turtle brooch, for which Whizzy was my inspiration:

What`s your favorite animal/pet?

More flower brooches

These two models were made using the same pattern and yet they came out so differently. Obviously I used different colored felt and thread. .

I am very happy by the results!Yay!

The first one represent the Edelweiss, an endangered flower that can be found in my country:

The name comes from the German edel (meaning noble) and weiss (meaning white). This little mountain flower believe it or not belongs to the sunflower family.

The second brooch represents the common Sunflower:

Their size is 6x6 cm:

Details:

What do you think do they resemble the flowers from which they were inspired from?

Best wishes,
Enci
